Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering Department, accredited by NBA was established in July 2003 with an intake of 60 in UG course. PG course (M. Tech.- Thermal Engg.) was introduced in 2011 with intake of 18. From July 2012, onwards UG intake has been increased to 120. Department of Mechanical Engineering is working with the objective to enable the students to acquire scientific knowledge, as well as provide a basis for their personal, social and cognitive development. The department is continuously taking efforts to impart state of the art education to students.
Department has well equipped laboratories e.g. Material testing, Fluid mechanics & Hydraulics, Heat & Mass Transfer, Refrigeration & Air condition, Metal Cutting, CAD/ CAM, & Research Lab etc. Department has qualified & experienced faculties for teaching & guiding the students for their project/ research work.

Department has successfully completed research projects funded by various national agencies like Deptt. of Science & Technology, MPCST. We have also successfully completed some challenging industrial projects for reputed industries like BHEL, Permali Wallace etc. Our students are placed in industries like TCS, Bridge stone, GEI Industrial System, Adani Power, Jai Bharat Maruti Group, Davi Engg. etc. through campus placement.
Our student Mr. Sumit Bankey received gold medal for being the first topper of the university. He received gold medal in the convocation of RGPV on 10/07/2012.

He was also awarded endowment gold medal (Pt. Madanlal Sharma memorial gold medal) for being the topper among BE (ME/EE/CE) exam of June 2011 of university.
Our students (1) Mr. Aditya Tiwari & (2) Akshay Athale received Chancellor’s Scholarship for being topper in University Exam.

Programme Educational Objectives

PEO1. Prepare graduates to have knowledge in Mathematics, Science and Mechanical Engineering for formulating, solving and analyzing the Engineering problems for a successful career in Mechanical Engineering.
PEO2. Prepare graduates to have strong theoretical and practical knowledge in Mechanical Engineering, contributing to society through, innovation, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership with a global outlook.
PEO3. Inculcate teamwork, communication, interpersonal skills and ethical approach adapting to changing environments of engineering/ technology.
PEO4. Prepare graduates to pursue higher education and make them aware of lifelong learning and professional ethics.

Programme Outcomes

PO 1. Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals including Mechanical engineering for the solution of engineering problems especially mechanical engineering problems.
PO 2. Identify, formulate and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, science, and Mechanical engineering.
PO 3. Design solutions for Mechanical engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health, safety and environmental considerations.
PO 4. Conduct investigations of engineering problems for analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5. Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling to engineering activities and their limitations.
PO 6. Apply reasoning and the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety and cultural issues.
PO 7. Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of sustainable development.
