My colleagues
and I are striving to transform SIRT into a 'Knowledge Enterprise'. The relevant
concepts that we expect to build into SIRT are:
A knowledge
enterprise is an institution which is capable of production, marketing,
maintenance and innovation of knowledge as a product.
Production
of knowledge - this will consist of collection of data, conversion into
information and learning to use and apply the knowledge for specific and useful
purposes.
Marketing
knowledge - this can be done through using Information Technology as a
tool, through which the transfer of knowledge and the capability to use it will
be done to the needy normally at a price.
Maintenance
of knowledge - knowledge and its applications have to be updated,
upgraded consistently and regularly.
Innovative
knowledge - it is similar to R&D practice, wherein new knowledge and
the scope of application of knowledge is expanded and extended.
This is our
experiment. We expect to get this experiment validated by industry.
